E90 Resonator Delete / X-pipe install

I've got a 2008 335XI sedan with CP-E down-pipes. I plan to keep my secondary cats, but I am thinking about (1) removing the resonator and replacing it with an X-Pipe, (2) adding a moderately aggressive axel back (dinan, Remus, corsa), or (3) going to full secondary cat-back exhaust.

Can anyone comment on any of the three above?? I'm particularly interested in keeping all cats, but adding an "aggressive" NO Drone system...

Thanks!!

I'm interested in this as well. More so the x pipe. I'd like a little more of an aggressive tone, but cost for exhaust (with little to no performance gains) just doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm going to stay tuned to this though to see what everyone else thinks.

Cut out the secondary cat have pipes welded there and remove resonator with x pipe. Get corsa axle back exhaust.

I swapped my resenator for a xpipe and it made a big difference in my xi. I say go for the x pipe at least.

I'm interested in this as well. I don't want anything really to drone and I'm curious how eliminating the resonator with an xpipe would be. I would like to keep my secondary cats because I need those to pass emissions in my state where they have sniff test.

I also replaced the resonator with an x-pipe and the difference in sound was very small with the stock catback and stock DP's.

Any 2.5" x-pipe will work, I used Magnaflow 10791. There is no bolt-in version, it's something you'll need an exhaust shop to install.

search "2.5 x pipe", don't put 335i in the search, it's not like they made an x pipe just for our cars lol

That sounds good and not to loud. In video are you running stock mufflers?

I left the 2nd cats on mine, removed the resonator and added an X-pipe, and did the exhaust PE mod.

Sounds a little louder than stock but absolutely no drone.

Yea, That sounds good. IMO slightly louder than stock but still a deep tone, just a little more aggressive when under acceleration. I might have to go the same route.
