Usually you are not going to get pulled over by a cop on the road for not having front plates. Rule to thumb is that if you're in the burbs you should be ok. If you live in the city and frequently park where there are meters or parking permits being enforced, don't even think about it. Those meter maids will get you EVERY TIME.
When my car was new, I got ticketed for having dealer plates! Got it waived off, but that was silly. |

I've known a few people get ticketed by meter maids and Bart police while parked. Personally I didn't have any problems for 11 years on my old Audi A4. I had even been ticketed a few times in that car but even got one for the plate.
Although, I always kept it in the trunk, mounted on the front plate bracket, just in case. I figured I'd tell the cop "it just fell off and I hadn't had a chance to re-mount it yet". Don't know if that would have worked and luckily never had to try. The new BMW came with a plate so I'm learning to live with it. |

You should just purchase a tow hook license plate bracket, and to fill in the previous holes some people have painted screws with touch up paint and screwed them in to fill the previous place or you can always bondo and paint?

I've been driving around for 2years without plates and haven't had problem. I've been pulled over once for a speeding ticket and the officer didn't mention anything about the plates.
I've read that they will pull you over near certain secure facilities like airports since they use cameras to run your front license plates. How much has anyone paid for a ticket? |
