what does the term "stepped core" mean?
seems like everyone recommends the Helix but would that be a wise choice for track days? because it seems like its much taller and thinner then the ETS design, would that take away air to the radiator? |

The helix is actually thicker than the ets 5" on the lower section and our intercoolers have been used in cars that autocross, road course as well as endurance events similar to the cannonball run! It only covers 2.5" at the very bottom of the radiator and has rounded ambient face bars that help airflow through the core to the radiator. We have sold several hundred of these and have never had any negative feedback in regards to affecting coolant temps. Its called a stepped core due to its unique shape of being both taller and thicker.
