For all my automatic E9X owners

When you drive, do you put it in drive "D" or slap it over to "DS". Like majority of the time. Which one more often? Just a simple poll.

I keep it in D and go easy on it until the oil temp gets up to about 200, then it goes into DS and I don't baby it anymore.

D for daily driving; DS for track. Once in a while for a special occasion I will move to DS on the street. And even less often I might mess with the DSC.

In the summer I'm DS/manual mode all the time. No point in the winter... just leave it in D around here.

In my current 335i, it is in "D" most of the time. When I had a 328i, always in "DS"

Overall in my car's lifetime, it's definitely D. Probably like 95% of the time...no, make that 98%. Recently, however, I've started driving in DS most of time. Driving in D again makes the car feel very sluggish. Of course, I have a 328i...if I have a 335i or an M3 it might be a different story.

D mode pisses me off sometimes how it just stays in like 4th even while accelerating through a corner like half the time..Barely moves. I'm usually 50-50 about it though.

I use DS when I need to pass someone or when I feel like letting the car stretch its legs a bit. My daily commute is pretty boring so it's in D or Manual mode most of the time for regular city driving.

id say 99% manual 1% in drive. DS revs a bit too high for my style of driving. drive is great if im in traffic. Manual is too much fun though

"Most often" I'm commuting to school and I like to baby the car so that I can get a bit over 200 miles per tank and who knows how much MPG. I save DS and manual for the weekends or whenever I feel like going on a drive on a good road.

Dang your goal is over 200/tank... I usually get like 280-300 with daily driving in city crap and some fun driving mixed in. What is your overall mpg?

80% D
15% DS
5% Manual

Most of the time it is in D for my commute, but sometimes I drive it in DS. I've actually been driving it in DS for the past week or so. Sometimes manual, and its mostly when I'm in a parking garage, lol..

My last two 335s were both automatic and would warm up on D, then to DS.
