How To Clean Black Charred Exaust Tail Pipe?
I'm trying to clean the black charred residue on my exaust. Has anyone done this to their car? If so what is the best method or is it permanent at this point?
Thanks, - Mike |

I sometimes use P21s polishing soap from Detailers Domain. It makes them look perfect. But after driving for a day or two, they are back to being black again, so I don't waste my time unless I am going to be taking pictures/attending a group drive.

I used never dull on mine, but if they are caked pretty bad, it takes a lot of elbow grease - something like p21s first would speed it up, then I usually use never dull when I wash the car, takes 2 seconds then.

Super fine (0000) steel wool and polish worked wonders for me. I took mine off to do since the oem tips just slide on and are held by spring clips.

I use 0000 grade steel wool and just picked up some cheap Mothers aluminum mag polish from wally world. It does wonders.
