Custom Sub Enclosure in GTA?

Has anyone in the GTA found an audio shop that sells and installs these custom sub enclosures that I see for sale by Northwest and Bav Sound? I am looking to put my new sub in an enclosure on the side of the trunk to save space and also to not have this box sliding around in my trunk.

Any recommended audio shops from experience would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Wow, so I called these guys and there prices are so far out of whack it was funny. They wanted $900++ to fabricate a rear corner sub box. I have found two other audio shops in the GTA who have experience with our cars and there prices were about half the cost. Also waiting to hear back from musicar about there fabricated option which looks good.

Just got off the phone with the guys at Musicar. Ordered their custom trunk sub enclosure. Should be here in a week. Will post up pics once it is installed. Morel's have also arrived for the components. Almost done the hifi upgrade!

These guys are very pricey, and I wasn't too impressed with them when I had gone to see them a few months ago when I was looking for an audio installer.

There are definitely better shops in the GTA:
20 Hertz
Number 1 Sound

to name a couple

are you buying only the enclosure?? cause I find the whole package is pricey..

I'm having the same issue here in Ottawa too trying to find a box that fits or a custom box... would be great if you could PM the details

and yeah post pics when you get it!

cheers

My sub box arrived. Definitely better and more cost effective than anything locally in the GTA.

How much did the empty enclosure run you? Shipping charges?

20 hertz gave me a great deal building my custom box, and on the sub too (under $400 for the sub with enclosure, but I did get a bunch of other work done with him too).

Curious as to why that would be an issue for you? The overwhelming majority of people and shops out the sub over the battery. I have not heard or read of any negative impact on the battery. You could put it on the of the amp but most don't because that is where the other amps tend to go. Have you?

I checked them out as wel but for basically only a little more I felt better about the construction, design and audio characteristics of the Musicar box. They hav manufactured many so they have it down cold. Have heard goo things about 20 Hertz though hence why I considered them initially.

Sounds like you did your research! Enjoy your purchase!

Do you have folding seats or a ski pass? I don't, and found the trunk to be very insulated, and needed to push the sub very hard to get bass into the cabin.

Looking at options to essentially drill holes from the trunk to the cabin to get more bass through. Wondering what your results are like.

Cheers!

I have folding seats and a ski pass but to be honest it doesnt matter that much. If you get the right sub and box, it doesn't matter. Obviously if you have an unobstructed pass through the bass would be even better but this can be mitigated with improved underseat speakers.

Once I ahve everything done, we should grab a coffee and you can have a listen.

Definitely! My system is still a work in progress. But we can definitely compare notes and audio!

Keep me posted!

The structural casing of the battery my be compromised due to the frequency of of bass right above it and reflecting around it as well.
The compartment itself is down low and surrounded by the metal body creating more.
Not my personal choice, I could see battery failures quite often.
Perhaps dynomat the enclosure and battery. I would. (Rubber stuff)
