Anything additional to consider at same time of JB4 tune?

My car is new to me (2012 335i) and already in the shop since it was hit day 1, but when she comes back I am planning on the JB4. Anything else to consider at the same time?

Plugs and an oil change.

The oil was just changed before I bought it. I could already tell the suspension needs some work to make it handle better. I would prefer the extra power unless there is a downside to it. I am used to power and sold my 911 twin turbo and daily driver for something I can drive daily and still tweak with mods. I am hoping it is this. I looked at a M3 but actually was more drawn to the 335i.

No need to change coils unless you have a misfire.

The advantage is no cracking with a metal CP. Also, you can add a BOV since you can get them with the tail. Coils should be changed every 35-40k miles, some like to say 50k miles but it depends honestly. I swap out my coils and plugs at the same time since I'm on a stock turbo at 25-30k miles. If you get the plugs and coils, order them off of Amazon. I got Bosch plugs for $55 shipped and Delphi coils for $28 a piece.

My 911 twin turbo needed a MAF and Porsche wanted $1200 to replace. Bought it on Amazon for $180 same brand MAF/same part number for $180 and installed in 5 minutes. Love the dealers.

Chargepipe, plugs, and oil. Charepipes even blow on stock setups. Then intercooler, then downpipe. Maybe BMS oil catch can to prevent build up. PPK flash!

Skip the oil catch can. Bmw revised the pcv system to prevent blowby on the n55. They literally added ports to the head. People are getting valve cleanings done at 80k on N55s and there is no gunk built up... just a fine soot. My BMS occ has never had a single drop of oil in it... there was oil built up at the throttle body when I replaced my chargepipe. This tells me that what oil does still get by isn't even being caught by the bms occ.

Definitely upgrade your Chargepipe first unless you want to end up stuck on the side of the road during your morning commute. Been there made that mistake...

Chargepipe is a must. Make sure to get one with at least one meth bung. Everyone says they will not add methanol until they do, you don't want to buy the same part twice. I agree that I would not do anything with the plugs or coils until they have issues.

1. Tune
2. Chargepipe
3. Intercooler
4. Downpipe
5. Some kind of fuel supplement. LPFP upgrade for E85 or a meth kit.

Lol your car literally sounds exactly like mine.. get a chargepipe, I got a jb4 and less then a month later on map 5, I blew my charge pipe off the seams. Went with ER charge pipe and its been an absolute perfect fit, with 1 meth bung, Idk if i will ever go meth, but at least I have it.

What is the ER charge pipe and is this easy to install yourself? I need to familiarize myself with this car and motor. I have done plenty of work on past cars but so far lost on this one, but then again owned it 2 days before going into the shop since it was hit.

don't get a jb4. lots of people with N55's have problems after installing, myself included. wont go into it. but long story short it was the worst mod EVER!!! just get a custom flash tune. yes its more $ but its consistent, safer power (with regards to timing etc). and doing it once is cheaper than getting rid of the jb and doing it after.

seems to be better on N54's though

Evolution Racewerks Chargepipe , yeah you can install it yourself. Literally got mine installed with a flat head and sockets. Takes 35 minutes.

What are you talking about, Jb4 has been amazing on my N55. Even mixed with 3 gallons of E85, its freaking awesome!
