Thumbs up BMW E90 320i - New DME and CAS, but DSC VIN incorrect [Solved]

Hello guys,

Again I write about the same BMW E90 320si and I hope this is the last topic for her. After I changed the N45 engine to 320i N46, I had to change the DME & CAS module and the whole electrical system. The car works flawlessly except for the DSC "Dynamic Stability Control" module that has an error:

5E1F - PT-CAN VIN Incorrect / ECU not initialized

Because of this error, the traction does not work and the lamp on the dash lights continuously. I tried to calibrate them, but it does not work, so I switched to change the VIN. I used WinKFP as follows for DME & DSC (I do not know why I also decided to program the DSC - the original module):

1. F1 Comfort mode
2. F1 Enter ZUSB
3. F2 Enter Vin - Enter the original VIN "WBAVF71040...."
4. F8 DONE
5. F3 PROGRAMING

The process passed successfully, but the error "5E1F" remains even when three more occurred:

DME:
2FA3 CDKCOD - HO process error, coding missing -- After programming the module;
2A70 CDKDIVVT - Current plausibility error -- After me;

DSC:
5E59 5E59 - Coding error. -- After me;
5E1F 5E1F - PT-CAN VIN Incorrect / ECU not initialized

It seems to me too easy and I doubt that it changes the VIN only for the UIF - User Information Field. Had there another way I could change VIN? Maybe with NCS Expert or Tool32, but I do not know how. Please someone inexperienced by me for advice. Thank you for your time!

Try using Tool32 to change the Vin
Just to note that DSC is for rear wheel drive
and DSX is for all wheel drive.

Are you sure the VIN didn't change? Check in the INPA UIF.

But the DSC is not initialised anyway.

Code, the DSC to default with NCS Expert (Expert Profile) then perform the Steering angle Adjustment in ISTA D. The. Probably the DSC Adjustment. This should initialise the DSC.

In INPA UIF everything is fine, but I am sure it was not changed or I make wrong something. Should I enter VIN with checksum? I will try, thank you!

hi guys i had the same issue which is now resolved, in the same situation as OP i changed DME and cas and still got:

2c6d
2c72
2ca9
2c9d

which is both bank pre and after cat. If I return to old ECU errors do not display it is clearly not a sensor fault is there anywhere I can reset?
