How to pause/mute IPOD w/o i-drive

I have a new 08 335i MT w/o idrive or nav, but w/ the 6FL IPOD option. I've searched and searched, but haven't found a forum listing that describes a way to mute or pause your IPOD with the LOGIC7 controls. I would like to pause while I search for a new set of songs to play (thus turning off the system won't help).

Thanks

I don't think you can do it with the iDrive knob. You have to do it with the volume knob under the temperature control gauge.

Push the knob to pause/mute.

As I noted, I don't have i-drive. In my system, pushing on the volume knob turns off the unit, acting like the power button. I'm looking for a way to mute/pause without turning off the power to the LOGIC7 system.

I have Logic 7, 6FL but no iDrive. I have never found a way to pause the iPod. It is annoying not having that feature. If I'm listening to a podcast, I often want to stop it from advancing further while I hunt for something else. My lousy "solution" is to quickly switch to any song and then hunt while it plays.

I totally agree. Every music playing system I've ever seen (except this one) has a pause function. It's hard to believe that BMW left this out.

Anyone with any other ideas? I wonder if this could be added with a software update?

Thanks
