That was the point I was sort of aiming at, flood damge to engines really isn't that bad. Swap the starter and alternator though - don't want all that grit in the works.

regarding Tyres im going with Conti's again.
Yeah mate, i made it 3/4 way through before conking out. I had to swing from the door and jump onto the bonnet to then jump from the bonnet to get clear. Then needed towing hook in boot. so took my jeans off and went for a swim. At the rear it was upto my knees. It was far deeper in the middle. Fuck knows why i thought i could get through it. Luckily my mate was behind me.
