335 Exhaust Conversion Help
I have been trying to get this done for a little while now. Has anyone had this done by speed religion? or does anyone know the parts you need to convert the storage space under your boot?
I already have a carbon fibre 335 Valance, i have also contacted the company that used to make the exhasut for speed religion thanks to Ant for that. But my problem is i do not know what parts i will need to change the storge space. I have also tried to look at the realoem website without much luck. Any help at all is much appreciated |

I have had this conversion done on My car and it required no parts other than the new 335 Diffuser, the right hand pipe can be worked round the storage compartment in the boot I will post some pictures tonight when I get home if it helps

MO 1 the exhaust was made in stainless steel by a company here in Northern Ireland (Jon Exhausts) but it only replaces the rear silencer it took about about an hour to make, sorry about the dirt of the car in the photos especially underneath
and now the rather dirty underneath pictures |

Thanks for the pics that looks really nice. What size are the tips. Same as OEM 335 or bigger?
How does it sound? Are the mounting holes for the 335 valance exactly the same as the 330. Or are a few different? |

Love the lamps too.

Yes the tail pipes are bigger than standard 4" I think and the rear valance fits with just a few holes out of place but most of the holes line up,
The rear spoiler is a genuine BMW item should be available at any BMW dealer it cost just under £100 as far as I remember |

Looks nice but does it dull the performance much?

No it doesnt affect the performance if anything it helps it rev more freely and the noise is only very slightly increased in a nice way and certainly no louder inside the car

Thanks for the pics and all the help TIW30. I have just been and booked mine in at my local exhaust place. So they only removed the rear silencer, they left the one in the middle? is that a silencer or your cat?

affraid to say i agree. if you want your car to look like a 335, buy a 335. if you want it to look like an M3, buy an M3.
I know you will come back with "i cant afford a 335" or whatever, thats life. I cant afford my Ferrari F430, doesnt mean i want to buy an MR2 and make a replica. Save the money you would spend on all the shizzle to replicate and put it towards your dream car! Simples! no offence meant to anyone, just my tuppence worth.

Those of us with knowledge know the subtle differences between models (front grill mesh, wheels, brakes) and can spot an imposter immediately. Does that mean don't install M3 trunk lip, strut brace etc on a 335? I personally think it is more of an injustice to order a 335 with a steptronic. Last but not least, I would actually consider converting the dual exhaust 335 to single can status for weight savings/sleeper status. Just a thought. But should I be worried that people think I spent less for my car? Just my $.02 Good work OP |

Digitalinkartist,
You must remember that in Europe we get many more versions than you guys, not just the 328 and 335.. there's even a 318 so an even higher seperation between models. Also, as 90% of European cars are manual we find it nice to have an auto now and again. That's my 2p, and with the current exchange rate it makes it around $.329 so it's even more valid. |
