Sorry if this is a dumb question but what's the big benefit of the huge HD?
250gb!

I know people with 40gb 60gb and 80gb. . . Now they're like double the size.
Is that necessary?

depends. I have a 500gb in mine and it's almost full. I'm lazy, I hate loading DVDs and blu rays. Most people stream though. HD needs a gig LAN.
