Opinion on Msport badges on grill or boot?
I know I don't drive an M3 but it is an Msport, and has ///M badges on the steering wheel and alloys ect.
What do you guys think about having the badges on the front grill or next to the model variant on the boot lid? I've not seen anyone with them. |

If BMW fit them, spose its ok, if they don't you are perilously close to the Saxo/nova bling brigade. Its only a matter of time before you you hear yourself saying 'hmmmm, i really need a 26" sub woofer...'

Do what ya want m8.
If that floats yer boat, go for it. Buying an msport vs an se is in similar territory in terms of being an imposter. Both daft imho, largely about aesthetics. M8 of mine has a 325i se, nice and clean, leather, sports seats with modded suspension (eibachs or summat) . Drives lovely and much cheaper than the m sport version. Just doesnt have those stupid badges all over the place. Those in the know will clock the size of the engine on the badge on the back of the car. A dressed down six pot > tarty 4 pot. But who cares what others think. Do what feels right. If you decide to go for it, I can happily confirm that no one will know whether bmw fitted them or not lol. And even if it was obvious, its not going to make much difference to anyones perceived opinions about how cool (or not) your car is. If it isnt a 6 cyl, flog it and get one. Spend the mod money on fuel, not m stickers or blacklines or big bad bwoay alloys. The engine man, the engine! Do the maths |

If you think you'll enjoy the looks of it on your car then by all means, don't hesitate. Personally I think it would be fine looking but I wouldn't do it myself. That said, the reason I wouldn't do it has nothing to do with weather or not anyone else would like it or what anyone else thinks of it in any respect. I wouldn't do simply because it's not a cosmetic mod I'd be interested in.
Why should you be concerned about what others think about it - it's your car? I wouldn't care if you put a Ferrari badge on it. |

I agree with the sentiment of the majority, badges can look a bit "Saxo".
The pic of the 5 series with the badge looks wrong, and actually, now I've looked again at my car, I think the boot lid isn't big enough to add an ///M along with the 330d. I'm still vaguely interested in a grill badge. I think badges like that can look quite good - I'm thinking about Audi's S and RS range. My friend had an H reg 325i Msport with a badge on the grill and I thought it looked good. I need to find some pics of what it will look like first, but it's not top of my list of mods, so may not even bother. Thanks for all the comments guys |

Don't do it!!
This would have made a good poll topic......wonder what the result would be? Sympathetic mods that discreet enhance your car i think look cool, but IMHO the M badge, for me, adds a 10% chavability rating Just my 4 pennies worth but ultimatley your choice |

Less is more - take as many badges off as possible.

Exactly...
My last 330d was de-badged which meant it could have been any 6 pot engine, most debadge due to it being a 1.8, this was de badged to encourage temptation They soon realised it wasnt a 1.8 when it's remaped 300 bhp was unleashed...awesome power delivery! scary in the wet though |

Your speaking utter tosh mate. The M Sport has better suspension, better seats, a much better wheel, all over and above the fact that the body kit is imho MUCH MUCH nicer. I'd only have had to buy coilovers or similar with the stock suspension setup to make the bloody thing corner. I've been in an SE going fast sideways and its somewhat boat like to be fair.. My decision was an educated one, re: M-sport vs, SE. And I think most people would agree about what is the better car (Model for model, IE 330 SE vs 330 M Sport) However, putting M Stickers on a non-M car is tantamount to treason in my books. Should be hung, drawn, and quartered. So on that point I do agree with you!!
