vinyl shadowline trim - worth it?
I got a roll of vinyl shadowline trim as a gift the other day.
Does anyone have experience with applying that on top of the chrome trim. Is it worth it to do? Don't want it to come off after a while. Believe the alternative is to get the real-deal and replace it completely, but spending $800+ no fun either....

Plenty of people have done it... the only important thing is to make sure that you put it on as one long piece. If you try to put on smaller sections at a time, it will show the places where the vinyl overlaps...

I would really just suggest taking it to a shop who works with vinyl. That way, if it starts peeling or if they don't do a great job, they'll normally rip it off and do it over without charging you. We've had several people at a place around here do it without a problem. You just have to find a reputable shop.

I'm thinking of doing this also...did you provide the vinyl for them or did you buy it from the tint shop and how much did they charge you?

i did it myself. goodluck. 4-5 hours and a few beers and you'll be fine. i think my best advice would be to be very patient because it is a pain in the ass to deal with vinyl. don't stretch it too thin around the curves because it will rip.
honestly, i'd probably pay someone to do it next time. my DIY turned out decent. and i dont think you have to worry about it coming off

yeah i also got my vinyl from them. just be very slow and patient with applying and don't remove the chrome trim. when you get to the curvy parts use a hair dryer to heat the vinyl so it stretches and is more flexible.
or you could just go to a shop and pay $200 |

I put on matte black vinyl on my chrome trim last week. I am going on vacation for 2 weeks today too.
I did this before in the summer hear in Louisiana and the only issue I had was that it was so hot that it was a pain to get off because it kept on ripping. |

If you really don't want to go through the hassle of wrapping, you could just save for the real thing, also.. Even though you said it would be no fun, you'd still have black trim
