UK version E90 2010 316d Interior question
Hi! Only joined the site today, so plese forgive errors etc!
I have just emptied my bank account and involved max permissible loan to get myself this car. Yet to be collected. I used to drive a 2001 E39, I used a Garmin Nuvi sat Nav which was 'wired' by Halfords a generic car parts chain supplier in the UK. Loved it.. but new car new idea for not having leads showing etc. I surfed the web and came across BimmerNav.com... I have never heard of them, anyone got histrory with them ? are they any good? Sorry If I'm curious.. just new to 'modern' buying as with a 2001 model I could just go to a brakers for bits! Anyway.... I came across this link: http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catal...-item-241.html Is this any good? They have told me it will fit the UK version of the E90 and all will work, they say there is no coding needed! Can ANYONE see any flaws in me purchasing it? Am I missing something or does this seem like a good alternative to a very expensive BMW retro fit? Is there anyone in the UK using the brand of Supplied firmware to navigate around the UK? The only dissadvantage I can see over the genuine fit is that the screen eye level is lower into the dash, meaning less eyeline time on the road. Can Anyone see any other flaws...? Pleased with any input ...I am that £ Max'ed out that I do not want to find that after getting it from The US it is a three legged donkey! Not knocking BimmerNav, just concerned of UK-USA incompatabilities etc. Thanks. |

Hello everyone
I was going to paint the poplar of my E90 in glossy black The leather sports interior with poplar does not seem to be the best match, although in this thread I saw many cars with interior poplar, for this I want them painted in glossy black, so as to have a uniform color do you think is better as it is now, I put the shiny black? Photos of my BMW up here |

Lloyd Luxe Mats - Dark grey mats on beige interior
I purchased a sets of Lloyd Luxe Mats from AutoAnything and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. The fit is perfect and I'm digging the contrasting color of the Dark grey mats over the Beige carpet. They're a massive improvement over the stock factory mats.
One mod I did was to trash the plastic hook clips they provided. I cut two round circles of sticky backed velcro to match the factory velcro and attached it to the bottom of the driver side the mat. (The pic of the driver side mat is pre-velcro, so its lined up better than pictured. It looks a little high on the right) I also put an extra piece of velcro on the mat just before the gas pedal to insure that the mat doesn't slip or bulk up. I then cut the negative piece of velcro and attached it to the hard non-carpet floor area below. (So in the future if I decide to remove the velcro there won't be any damage to the carpet. Maybe just a quick wipe off of the sticky residue left from the velcro.) The only negative point I have is that Lloyd designed them with plastic hook holds instead of using velcro circles to matchup with the factory velcro underneath. But that is a minor gripe and was a 10 minute DIY job to make them attach the way I wanted. If you're looking to buy some high quality mats def check out the Lloyd Luxe Mats, you'll be extremely pleased. I give them 9 out 10 points!!! I couldn't be happier.
