Mtech vs msport

So I'm in the market for a 07 335i coupe and would like to get the nicer bumpers. I've been searching and I am confused on what's the difference between Msport package and Mtech. Any help will be appreciated thanks. And yes I searched but no help. TIA

Same thing, but the dealership calls them differently? right?

Correct... my understanding is that the aftermarket producer (3D?) calls them M-Tech, while BMW OEM calls it M-Sport. Essentially it's the front fascia, side sills and rear diffuser additions to the car. Though BMW's OEM M-Sport also includes suspension upgrades as well, which the M-Tech kit does not include.

The official name for the front bumper, sides and rear is M-Sport. It is available as part of the M-Sport Package for E90 LCI models but is also available as a body kit to purchase separately.

Ok cool. What else does the Msport package come with. Is it possible to buy a 06 then add the Msport package whenever or do I have to buy a 07 msport 335i?

Theoretically you could order those parts separately and add them to your car to make it an M-Sport vehicle.

I would just hit up Long Tran and see what he can do for you. Not sure if you could get a better deal local or not. Long took mine to the paint shop last Monday and it came in today. Tomorrow will be the install. I will have pics up hopefully tomorrow evening with everything done.

Would it be possible to get just the rear as I actually like the aerodynamic front end with the bigger bottom openeing. The aero front is just a lip correct?

+1

Finally, people are starting to get it. There is no m-tech on E9x's. It was all started with the E46 that had both the msport and mtech areo bits. They were two different setups.

E46 Mtech (or ZHP):

Now, the E9x kits that somewhat resemble the E46 Mtech kit is the Msport and there is no such thing as the Mtech kit.

Tischer sells it all:

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...egoryID=104047

You can get it as a kit for the whole car, or the front, sides, rear separate.

I actually just ordered the msport front for my E92, and the bumper is being painted. The aero lip is just a lip. I used to have it, but wanted the full bumper.

Not great pics, but this is the factory msport in Europe, imo the side sills are required to complete the look.

imho... both m-sport and m-tech/m-technic/m-technik are used fairly interchangeably. however, for m-sport, i think of the total package option. m-tech, i think of more the individual parts and/or kits.
