if you can change back to stock and not show any signs of tampering, the dealer will replace it if you still have warranty.

Sorry your experiencing issues. The angels are on a totally separate circuit and have never caused issues with adaptive. So we have to test it all out to see where the issue came from and whether it might just be an intermittent problem that's easily addressed.

Inside the headlight there's wires going from the adaptive module to the motors then out of the headlight straight onto the cars harness thru the big multipin plug to communicate with the cars footwell module. You could almost say other than the adaptive(control) module in question and the HID ballast underneath, the only electronics within the headlight itself are the motors on the projector, the headlight itself is just routing wires to external sources.

The swap was done with your own module so my guess is we need to reboot the computer by disconnecting the battery for a bit, see if its just being moody, then verify adaptive is working or not and lastly check for the module being loose during installation.

Well be in touch and resolve the issue and get to the bottom of it no matter what as I ultimately want you to be happy with your OSS set

damn bro
good luck getting this sorted out
I had this problem on my stock headlights out of warranty, so I had to pay a shitload to get them replaced, which sucks, but its life... At least you have the helix/oss guys taking care of you

as others have stated, it's an internal module most likely. I have a spare headlight because my original had this problem. OSS wouldn't cause this, but the headlight itself. Good luck on the fix - not easy

Matt, I remember you telling me this a while back.. wow.. You were absolutely correct. Glad I went with LUX H8..

Panda, good luck... It's going to be tough getting that fixed at the dealer.

It was already mentioned, but make sure there isn't any moisture inside the case. I had one clip left undone when my Lux were put in and water got in and fried one of mine. Huge mess that still isn't entirely fixed over a year later. That's all it'd take while reinstalling the headlights, one clip left open by accident.

That is true, the thing is the adaptive headlight error code only comes on here and there. When it does the adaptive doesn't work obv. It doesn't always come on I told the dealer to scan the codes. Do you think they'll fix it? or matter fact find the code???

that's probably because you have an intermittent problem thats not yet over the cliff
once its broken, it's broken, and it comes on whenever the headlight turns on

So you don't think the dealer is going to "fix" it untill the error code stays on constant?

I have the same problem with my adaptive headlights on my e90... the minute i went with a set of aftermarket angel eyes the adaptive headlisghts were fine, but what happened was s the seal wasnt tight enough and let moisture into my headlights and thats when my adaptive xenon malfunction light came on.. its been on for a while now and the adaptive lights dont move when turning the wheel... the dealership will rape you to get it checked out it takes a few hours of diagnostics to figure the problem out and that will cost 500-600 then to actually fix it, close to a grand... the mechanic was honest enuff to tell me that the cost to fix that problem it is not worth it... the headlights still work, just the luxury of having the adaptive xenons doesnt

unless you can replicate theproblem for them and show them the code, they are usually annoying about repairing anything under warranty from my previous experience.

If you look at your headlights, you can see what the problem is. Check to see if the projector is pointing inward, then you might need a new mechanism.
I'm having issues with mine as well, I get the error on the dash with the arrows to the sides. And since my lights don't move to the sides when I turn the wheel I know that's the problem. By looking at the front of the car I can also see the projector housing pointing a bit to the right instead of straight, so it must be stuck.

I noticed a little bit of moisture on the corner of the headlight causing the problem, this is enough to damage the adaptive system? Damn

I guess I could always buy a used headlight from a 328/335i on ebay right?
