328i to 330i conversion. (sharing my car since I'm new to e90post)

I'm currently driving a 2009 328i. I just wanted to post it in case anyone was interested in the 330i manifold swap because I've done it and gotten the Stage 3 tune from AA. I've also put the JBspeed splitters on and I know there are a lot of people on the fence about whether or not they should get them. On top of the manifold swap I have a Eisenmann exhaust that sounds pretty freaking awesome.

I used to have a CAI installed but I realized it was crap and took it off... Over time the rubber boot that connected to the throttle body wore and occasionally slipped off even after fixing it with a new boot it was never the same and caused my car to go into "crawl mode"... She's got 134k miles but I've taken meticulous care of her and she runs like new. If anyone wants to know more about the manifold swap or anything else I've done feel free to ask away!

I am thinking about doing this as well. What exact parts did you need for the swap. I have a 2007 328xi and going to get the parts from my dads 2006 530xi. I also have the AA tune already do you think I need to update the tune after the swap.
Thanks.

The stripes on the side are ok, but the stripe on the hood and the german socks are too much.

Good to hear you enjoy the 330 power.

all you need for the swap is the 30i manifold with the disa valves your car should have two cables that are attached to the current manifold those plug into the disa valves the longer cable is for the inside valve. You don't have to get the software updated because the current ECU kind of knows what to do with the valves but I kind of know how to build a rocket..... haha so to get the most out of the multi stage manifold you have to contact AA for the stage 3 tune. I got the handheld simon tool which was less money then sending in the ECU and you got the flash for free!

nice engine mods! Is your engine an n52 or n51? I have an n51 and don't know if it's even worth it to buy a tune for it, but I know it does come with a 3 stage intake manifold...

I know it's all personal taste, but:

The vinyl strips you have from the car completely detract from its body lines.

The hood vinyl hides the shape of the hood, which make it look like a pre-lci hood.

I'm from Germany and during the world cup us Germans go all out.. haha so they were only for the WC in which Germany dominated might I add! they are no longer on the car although a lot of people liked them in Charlotte the hood stripe may be coming off soon as it's nearing the end of it's life.

I have the N52. I would think the tune would make it a 330 essentially? I'd ask AA about that it sounds like you have the easy way to a 330i haha does it come with the DISA valves?

You're right.... I was a bit over zealous in my statement if you can't leave before half time it's not domination ;p

N52 needs the 3stage intake manifold with the tune and it'll essentially be a 330.
