2010 335i stalled twice (N55 DCT)
Hi all,
so I bought this car as a BMW certified second hand about 2 years ago. I only put on 9k miles. It has stalled on my twice in this whole time. I remember clearly when I first bought the car, Jan 2013 (9k miles) that it stalled once. Just moved away from home. Slowed down at an intersection and it cut out. No warning no check engine light. Started sweet so ignored it, possible stupidly! It stalled again (June 2014) now 17k miles but restarted and was fine. Both times the stall was while at the lights or intersection after recent starting from cold (within 5 mins max). After the stall there was no engine light or limp mode either time. Nothing unusual with the car other than that. It had the VANOS recall done on it about 4 weeks ago. Im just wondering whether it is worth getting the BMW guys to have a look at it. It is still under the BMW insured extended warranty. Would an inspection be covered? The only trouble is I am about to export my car, I am leaving the country. So if anything needs to be done in my new home it won't be covered under warranty obviously and something like this will probably be very pricey I imagine. Thanks for you help. |

yeah thanks I am 100% sure its N55, I have a Certificate of Conformity (which I needed for export to AU) which has the engine as N55B30A. And yes I am in the UK.
Any other thoughts as to the cause? Cheers! |
