I got out of work a few days ago and my car would turn over but wouldn't start. Fuel pump is working and getting good fuel pressure. I'm not getting any spark. Two days later I get home and check the Accentric shaft sensor and it was fine. For the heck of it I tried to start it....... It started.... I waited a half hour Tried again it started. Next morning it would once again turn over but not start.

Random detail I noticed when it doesn't start the fuel pump will continually try to prime the system until I turn the car off.
I also have a code scanner and it will not connect see the car or connect to it.. I know the scanner works becuz I tried connecting it to my e46 and it read on there

I have been reading forums and have not been able to get a answer can anyone help it would be greatly appreciated.... Thank you in advance

Maybe the ECU has an intermittent fault. If the scan tool doesn't see it.

OK get the battery checked?
And battery cable recall....may be.

Battery voltage when it is started is what.
Battery voltage when it is off is what.

Dealership said it wouldn't be the recall if it turns over ..... But when the key is on acc there is no CEL light. Checked the relay and it seems good but I'm replacing it any ways ..... Starting to think its the computer or ignition switch

What did the dealer say?
Else pay for an hour diagnostic to figure out what is wrong.
Keep us posted.

Wtf....go to another dealer for the info.
They have to give it to you....you paid them for diagnostic.....right?

OK, find someone with a BMW diagnostic tool and pull the codes....most likely historical codes can't show up again unless car starts.....but they are still in memory.

Got my car back today the last time I took it in they actually put the wrong type of battery in it. They installed an AMG battery instead of a acid style. Even though the battery was turning over the car the computer wasn't reading it properly but I'm glad it's running
