Dinan software question.
I just got a call from my SA to tell me that if I want to get the Dinan software only, BMW will not cover the warranty of the car and I need to buy the oil cooler to keep BMW's warranty of the car.
I never heard this on the forum. Please let me know what you think, I think the dealer is just BS. Thanks |

You don't have the secondary oil cooler in the passenger wheel well.
It has been posted before from others and Dinan too. You should have ordered the sport and 18" wheels to get the oil cooler. Maybe talk to BMWNA to see if you qualify for the oiler cooler retrofit, they have done other posters. GL |

Oh and the warranty thing is normal. Once you get the flash dinan covers the warranty, not BMW....

Might want to suck it up and get the Dinan oil cooler. If you don't have one and you plan on driving your car hard at all it's a wise investment. It sure would be nice if BMW would split the cost though.

I think the dealer may have meant that Dinan will not warranty you without the cooler - BMW won't warranty your drivetrain at all once you have the Dinan SW installed, but Dinan will warranty it, but requires the oil cooler otherwise if you do their software without a factory oil cooler or theirs, then they will also not cover you.

It's true.
Get the oil cooler! I bet you'll be happy.

Well, my SA told me that they can do it in house and it should be done with in 2-3 hrs, the cost is $2k + $168 for labor.

Just look in the wheel well. Either it will be there or it won't.

12/06 build here as well. '07 E90 335i with automatic and sport--had no oil cooler. I recommend you have one installed, either factory or Dinan. I'm not sure if anyone else is offering them for the 335i.
