LUX H8 160 v 40w

Stumbled across a set of 40w brand lights while cleaning out a friend's garage and decided to toss em into my E92 M3. Unsurprisingly my LUX 160's were substantially more consistent and brighter, reaffirming my decision to spend the extra money on them.

Snapped a few pics, then quickly put my LUX back in!

Thank you for the comparison. No surprises there.
LUX is 4 times the wattage of the other kit.

That's awesome

Looks like what my V3's would be up against the 160. I might have to grab these!

They are the most popular angel eye option we offer

I was hesitant to upgrade from the V4 to the 160 because I figured they wouldn't be that much different... but when I installed one of the 160s and compared it with the V4 on the opposite side, I was blown away. 100000% worth the $ to upgrade IMHO

It's so funny you say that, I literally couldn't stand it anymore.

I just bought the 160's! Can't wait to get them! I'll try to do a V3 comparison for everyone, not sure that was done yet.

I have the V4 now. Was planning to open up the lights and go Orion or something but still a toss up between that or just get the LUX. Since V4 still sell for good amount I wouldn't lose much $$ on the 160s

I recommend you get the 160 first and see how you like them. If you still want brighter angel eyes get the custom LED ones. Keep in mind we also offer a similar solution to the Orion ones.

I considered going OSS since a number of my friends have them. at the end of the day I just couldn't justify the price and having to ship my headlights out for a few weeks.. I do love the blackout look though

That's why I was just planning to do it at home and just buy the rings. Just seems like a long process. Was hoping to see the V4 vs this set before purchasing in person.

That's true, I could always compare them and see how they turn out. I've seen the solution you provide and it looks great but still cant justify shipping out headlights then await them to come back with my work schedule or I'd do it haha.

Makes sense. Unfortunately the DIY is not that easy and lots of things can go wrong when you open the headlight. I have seen lots of guys ruining their headlights but trying the DIY

Also. Every DIY I have seen has the outer ring noticeably larger than the inner ring which looks pretty bad. The source people get the rings from must be different than the companies doing the blackout mods.

I've only seen OSS and oneeighty get them symmetric sizes.

I'm assuming the "40W" are really the 20W upgrades from a few years ago, if so that explains the drastic difference.

What Jeff is asking about is whether it is 40w total (20w each side) or 40w each side? The only way to really tell is to check the bulb type

Do you know if it's 20W each side or 40W each side? Just curious, it really doesn't matter but if it's 20W each side that would explain the huge difference.
