Bulb Upgrade?
I'm looking for some help with what I'm seeing.
This is on a '11 335i. The bulb here is an H3. This is what they look like. http://www.e90post.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=57465 They are the adaptive lights, and have this acrylic rod around the lenses. I see a lot of talk about H8 bulbs but I don't see anything about these H3 bulbs. Are there upgrades for these? Thanks |

H3 is one of the most common bulbs out there. Tons of options for the in Halogen, Xenon and LED. Most of the cheaper drivinglights as well as older factory foglights use H3. A very inexpensive bulb that puts out lesslumens then the H4 or H1, but on par with H7 bulbs.
The easy peasy route is to replace the bulb with an upgrade that gives more light or whiter light (to match your xenons) depending on what you want to do. Make sure they are 12v and 55w and they are plug and play, no errors and no problems. Best lumens in Halogen 1. Osram Nightbreaker unlimited 2. Phillips Xtreme vision Both are plug and play Whiter light 1. Osram cool blue intense 2. Phillips whitevision 3. MTEC cosmos blue 4. Osram Cool blue Hyper (70w, but works) these are about the bluest/whitest bulb there is from a quality manufacturer.. In Xenon and LED your going to have to ask some other guys. Givven the small amount of time they are lit, I would just go with the halogen upgrade and spend my money and time upgrading the H8 angeleyes or foglights I actually did spend the money upgrading to Osram Nightbreaker D1S bulbs in my low/highbeam bixenon and that was money well spent!!
