16x8 BBS RS on E91 328?

i have a set of 16x8 BBS RS (web design, style 5) wheels from a 2000 740 that i'd like to know if they will fit my car before i buy tires. i am pretty sure these have a 23 mm offset. i want to run a 225/50/16 and this setup should fit on my car - but i want to be sure that the barrel will clear my brakes. i cant find any examples of others running this rim on my car which is not comforting.

does anyone know?

i am going to try to test mount one of them but i may not be able to because they have the stock tire size on them - 235/60/16 and even on a floor jack there might not be enough clearance to put the wheel on the car. if the wheel fits i will then buy the tires.

does anyone know if 16x8 et23 style 5's will fit?

thanks for your help.

Ok, I can confirm that the style 5 16x8 ET23 does fit the e91 328. I test mounted a rim on the passenger front and it does clear the brakes. The calcultor says there is 2mm less clearance to the shock tower.

The rim has the offset printed on it as is23, which confused me because i was expecting et23.

Anyone know of any other concerns with this fitment?

Does anyone have any comments about the fitment? it seems easy - too easy!

I'm not sure if the calculator here is looking at the rim or the tire width when it calculates the difference in clearance - but i think I should be okay with the 225/50/16 with a 9.2 in section width - yes?

thanks!

IS is the same as ET. People are fitting 18x8 ET20 M3 wheels without issues so your 16x8 ET23 won't have any issues either.
