BMW Performance Intake for 2012 E92 328i Coupe LCI?
Currently looking into getting the BMW Performance Intake (part # 13720444751) for my 2012 E92 328i Coupe, which is an LCI model.
Both Turner and the BMW USA Shop site show this as compatible with the 2012 E92 LCI model, but for some reason, realoem (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q=13720444751) only shows it as compatible for E92 models from 05/2005 to 02/2010. Does anyone know if this intake really also works for newer E92 models, or why realoem doesn't show it for them? Last edited by GermanInCA; 09-04-2015 at 09:51 AM.. |

Every NA E9X in the U.S. has the same intake setup. It WILL work. That's a beautiful intake, congrats

sounds great, 3hp across power band, but on the expensive side.
also in CA will be CARB legal, pretty much all else are not legal in california.

Yes, it's definitely one of the most overpriced parts you can get for the 328, not counting the useless paint protection they try to offer you when you sign the contract, of course.
Thanks everyone for the responses, and enjoy the long weekend. |

The intake is beautiful, but if you'd rather not throw that much money, just remove the charcoal filter and replace the intake hose with the silicone one. Way cheaper and to be honest, it really does rev more "freely" afterwards. $60 total, if i remember correctly.

When I wanted to buy the performance intake along with my exhaust BMW of El Cajon told me the intake would not work for my 2013 328i E92. He was not sure if it was a fit or emissions thing with the LCI. I am thinking it's more of an emissions thing based on the SULEV rating.

I don't think the 4 cylinder turbo ever came in an E9x. the 2013 E92 would still have an N52 or N51 (BMW traditionally runs the convertibles for a while after the sedans/coupes have been switched to a newer model). It should fit fine. It probably says it won't fit because they assume it has the newer motor, but BMW doesn't do that.. it still has the N5x.

I have the N51 motor. Per the installation pictures on another thread my engine bay should be the same. It's interesting that per the accessories section of the BMW website it fits.
