Why I Bought My 335xi Performance Edition - Video!

Hey guys/gals,

Fittingly lined up with the whole BMW "next100" campaign, I just finished a video on my YouTube channel about why I bought my BMW 335xi Performance Edition.

I'm posting it here to share with the community - please let me know what you think, the channel is young and I have lots to learn about how to create interesting content. I'm open to ideas, criticism, and ways to improve!

Happy driving!

Thanks! Def need sound or else it would be pretty boring I think!

Summer coming soon, and then will be posting more reviews of some pretty cool cars that are currently tucked away for winter!

Is that the one they sold only in Canada? I would be more interested in the difference between simple M Sport pack and this performance edition

Do some 7k RPM clutch dumps! Donuts in the snow. Come on man. Jk. Cool video. The audio is a little screwy.

If by better you mean more efficient because it makes less power, then yes, it does have that.

Yes, because we all drive stock cars. We're talking about potential, obviously. I don't dislike the N55 platform, I would have bought one (ie newer is better) if it lined up with my goals in terms of making maximum power, running catless (dp fix), and all that jazz. For now, it doesn't. Not to mention tuning on it isn't as responsive. Try to relax, no one is bashing your decision to get a 2011.

The N55 is currently capable of 600 whp. IMO that is enough for most of the tuners on this forum. Just sayin. And the new b58 engine makes more power than n55 and n54 with less mods so it should be interesting to see how that platform develops.

On it's stock turbo? I honestly didn't know that. That's impressive. Why aren't tuners like MHD including the N55 guys? I feel like that's a substantial percentage of E9x owners. I wish they could come out with a dp fix for the N55 for states that are very strict on emissions testing. It's a bitch to have to take off downpipes every two years.

I haven't read much about the B58. Seems promising indeed.

Edit: Wow...I just got done reading a 7 page thread on the N55 dp fix. It now exists! How cool. That's exciting stuff.

Fabb - I believe this was sold in the US as well. Funny enough another video I watched on the performance edition from the US was very different - didn't have the M3 colour, M3 trim, 313 wheels (mine is currently on its winter wheels) - perhaps just the owner's spec but it lacked some of the coolest aesthetic features.

Sgop - correct. And the best part, the m performance exhaust. I need to find a tunnel and a good mic to pic up the sound, especially the crackles when you lift!

Thanks for the comments! I will work on improving the scripting, and as I get more comfortable talking to the camera this will also improve. Still feels strange lol. What would you want to see in future vids?

lmao... I need to carry the camera more often. Had some fun with a Q50S the other night who thought he'd show his gf in the passenger seat how fast his car was.... after 2 attempts he gave up. Wish I had some donut vids for you, all I have is the pic below.

Agreed on the audio - I will be getting a mic, and also need to practice more natural/fluid speaking in front of the camera. Will improve with time!

I'm sure you'd pull... nice thing about the ppk is that it's a bmw-warrantied power kit and for a daily driver I have a worry-free "slight" increase in performance. I'm not here to win street races.

That said, it would be interesting to see the difference. What part of Canada you in? Is your shifting as quick as your eagerness to shoot down other people's rides?
