WWL Independence II 3.20.2008

Just found out my E92 is loaded on to the WWL Independence II and is scheduled to dock in NYC on 4.02.2008. Looks like I'll be getting it much sooner than expected. Let the modding begin!

Anybody else on the same vessel?

Just found out my 335xi is on the Independence II as well!! I'm showing it arriving in NYC on April 4. My car was loaded way back on March 20 according to the web site...strange, but who cares. Woo hoo!!!

M3 = Yummy

If I don't have to drive to work in 2 ft of snow, I would be buying an M3 as well. Since I'm most likely going to stuck in the snow belt for residency as well, I don't have much choice but to go with the XI again.

my 335i coupe is on this boat as well.

any ideas how long it will take from drop off in NYC on 4/4 until it is shipped out to the dealership? from what i understand, it will be a week or so before it clears customs and goes through the prep center.

Same here, I'd be in an m3 but I live in MA and dont feel like dealing with a 440 HP rwd in the snow. Maybe in 3 years ill break down and get it since I will be buying an x3 to replace my is300

I'm transferring a bunch of interior mods from my E90 to the E92. I have full interior LED, PIAA bulbs for DRL and LED for angel eyes sitting in my study right now. I also have a bunch of crap on order @ Tischer + some other vendors. I'll reveal my interior project once everything is done on my car, so keep an eye out for the pics

I'm transferring my Active Autowerke XEDE R7 to my E92

Exterior-wise, I'm not doing anything at this point. Most likely I'll start with tints, and a Vorsteiner trunk. However, I have a full kit on order as a special project. Stay tuned for that too.

It's going to be a lot of very subtle mods on the E92, so it wouldn't scream aftermarket like my E90 did.

I had a 493bhp (+mods) E55 AMG before this car and it was almost impossible to get traction on regular pavement, let alone snow and slush. Since I have to survive the torture of residency, it would make more sense to get some thing small and practical, like the E90/92 335xi. That way, I know I'll be able to get to work no matter what it looks like outside the window on any given day.

Our next car will probably be an AWD as well, a Targa 4S with PDK for the wife

We are somewhere in the Atlantic, no position updates that I can find.
If mine is coming to NE, do they unload it in NYC or does it stay on all the way to Charleston?

I think Midwest cars get off in Charleston and are loaded onto freight trains there.

Riding the Independence II as well, BMWNA just told me to expect delivery about a week from now, but I expect it will be a bit longer since the ship's been held up some.

Got blacklines, going to order a couple more DIY mods. Anyone from the Philly/NJ/DE area want to try and get in on a group Saturday at Shades of Grey for tints?

I think it's most likely going to be the second week or third week of April for us to see the cars. It's docking in NYC next week and will take some time to get unloaded, prepped at VPC and then transported to the dealer.

It sounds like Independence II is two days behind schedule from what I hear.

I spoke to my dealer today and they're showing it scheduled to arrive in NYC today (4/5/08), one day late. She said I may take delivery Thursday or Friday but she won't know for sure until it reaches the prep center. (I live in NJ, just 40 miles from the port).

Just checked the schedule again. It looks like the vessel will not be docked at the port of NJ/NY until tomorrow.

I talked to my dealer this week and mine is being unloaded at Charleston, SC. My estimated dealer delivery is around the 20th in Nebraska

Any one in the Metro DC area waiting for a car on the INDEPENDENCE II? When are you guys getting yours? I'm waiting for my 335xi that my dealer said it would arrive April 3 and I can have it by April 7... These dates have come and gone. I hate waiting!!! Me too have already mod parts waiting. Blacklines now. About to order Angel eye and fog. These mod orders are the only things I can do now to keep me sane and not go postal.
