Put them on today
Despite the cold coming back for one last weekend, I decided to have my wheels and tires mounted for the summer. I'll just vegetate this weekend, study for school, and play some PS3.
Complaints about car cleanliness will result with an invite for complainant to wax my car. - Morr VS7 Wheels - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 245/35-19 and 275/30-19 Tires |

I put my summer wheels back on at lunch yesterday. Auto Europe was able to squeeze me in even though I called yesterday morning. BTW, for those in Michigan who use them or are considering them for tire storage. They upped their 6 month storage and swapping (mounting) cost from $50 to $75.

Ok, things are kind of overcast today, and my camera is a POS from like 1999... but, here is a little sneak peak at the cosmetic mods I have made. Intake goes on next weekend! Sorry for the large size, I dont have a way to resize them at home at the moment.
I left the flash on in a couple pics, so you could see how great the overlays worked. In the first pic there is no flash and you can barely see the orange, but in the next few pics the flash is on and you can really see the reflective orange through! Perfect, form and function! and oops i forgot the flash on in the last pic lol.

I did it myself this morning. Cleaned them up nice before I put them on and cleaned the winters up before storing them. No Problems! Look great!
I realized that my winters are a little out of balance. I'm thinking that since I had the rim damage (pothole) I never got the new wheel into balance. I'm guessing sometime before Thanksgiving, I'll need to have them all balanced.

I'm in Chicago and use just one set of tires year round, have had them for the past 2 winters, General Exclaim UHP XL tires on ASA AR1 wheels, rear 19" by 9.5" with 265/30WR-19 tires, front 19 x 8.5" with 235/35WR-19 tires, bought the entire set up from tirerack.com for $1550 shipped. At the time I bought them they were rated number 1 out of 46 tires in customer surveys on the site and the only tire in that size with an M+S (mud and snow) rating. They're passable in the winter and great in summer. With more than 4" snow on ground it's tough going though. Less than 4" I can get anywhere, still gotta be gentle on the gas, could even make it up and down my driveway, which was impossible with the stock runflats in ANY snow. Of course they're not as good as dedicated snow tires, which I had on my old Mazda RX8, but good enough that I don't have a need for a separate set and do the changeover twice a year. Thread with pics of my setup:
