Oil Temp or Instant Fuel Readout

In the market for an E92 and been looking at a few of them... came across one today and it had an 'oil temperature' gauge as opposed to the usual 'instant fuel readout' gauge I see under the tacho.

Have a look below - do you guys have this or the instant fuel readout? Is it something 'bad' or something you chose when ordering the car...

This was a 325 actually.

So 335s don't have the fuel readout?

Mine doesn't have the fuel consumption gauge and from what I can gather all other 335s are the same. I think they all came with iDrive and professional nav so I can get an instant fuel reading in the dash from the trip computer.

Ok cool I guess it's nothing to worry about then - would still appreciate some input from other 325 owners as well, cheers.

All 6 cylinder petrol 3 series coupes (e92) have an oil temp gauge in that spot. There is an instantaneous digital fuel usage readout available on the little screen in between the speedo and the tachometer.

IMO, the oil temp gauge is much more useful

great - put my concerns to rest. For some reason i thought they all had the inst fuel readout and I was thinking this car was 'unique' or an import or something haha.

Ok thanks for the replies guys!

FYI, on the sedans (E90) only the 335i has oil temperature display, all the rest have fuel consumption display.

My 2009 E90 325i has the fuel consumption meter. It is stupid because it says your fuel consumption is zero when the car is stationary with the engine running.

Wish I had an oil temp gauge instead because I am always wondering how long it takes for the engine to warm up properly.

Yes, being l/100km it should immediately flip all the way up to infinite when stopped.

I was in a friend's XR6 the other day and when he is stopped his live fuel says ∞, a bit annoying that even Ford can manage to get it right. It would have been simple to have 0/∞ but i suppose it wouldn't have looked as clean.

In my dads XR8, when the car is stationary the milage gauge switches from L/100km to L/Hr, in which case it usually shows 2L/Hr
