Question about changing an E90's original trim
I'm looking to purchase a 328i coupe within the next month. A dealer close to me has the exact model I want (exterior, interior, options, etc.) EXCEPT that it has Burl Walnut trim, not the Gray Poplar which was my first choice.
Since my limited time frame is already restricting enough as it is, I feel like I should go ahead with this car. My question is, if I were to buy this car, would it be possible to then order the Gray Poplar wood trim and have the Burl removed and replaced with it? And if so, approx. how much would that cost me? Thanks! |

You can absolutely do this. . .whether the dealer will order the trim for you is another question. I dont think it should be a problem though and several companies offer after market option. (Tischer?) Not entirely sure on the pricing but the Gray Poplar is definitely a sexy interior.

Australia may be different, but a friend had her trim changed over at delivery and it didn't cost her any extra. Apparently the trim panels pop on and off pretty easily.

If the dealership wants to charge you more than just labor for the swap, which is in their right, then just make sure you get the original trim (since you'll be paying for both). Maybe you can find someone on eBay to take your Burl Walnut, it's another popular choice.
