I've had my new M3 convertible for 2weeks now (pics are here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157842 )

Since then, I've been setting up the BMW Connected Drive. This in it's current guise has the ability to receive RSS News Feeds, which I've managed to set up quite easily. However, far more useful would be the ability to receive emails using the same RSS method. Despite searching far and wide, I couldn't find any posts anywhere claiming this is possible.

I want this ability so that when we are away on long road-trips, we can check for email once or twice a day.

So being not easily put off, I've tried dozens of approaches to being able to receive emails in the car. One method worked perfectly - I could read the full text email contents in the car, but the RSS site I was piggy backing on would only keep my emails for a couple of hours,... so not really useful unless I'm continually checking for new emails whilst in the car.

The best method I've arrived at so far, allows me to receive Email headers in the car,... that is who it's from, the subject title and date/time sent (pics are below). The RSS site I'm using for this method retains my emails for a couple of days, which is more useful.

Of course the best solution would be being able to read the full text of an email, and not have it disappear after a couple of hours... I'll continue searching for such a solution.

First pic below shows the BMW website where you login and set up 'My News' items.

That's pretty badass. I have a couple ideas for the RSS > email thing so let me do some digging and I'll follow up.

Although if you're that interested in emails, Blackberry would probably do a better job though.

did you try mailinator.com?
You would need to forward your mails to this new mailinator address but it lets you plug in via RSS and keeps emails for a few weeks at least.

Yes, Mailinator works perfectly for this, but unfortunately, it dispenses with my emails after just a couple of hours, not weeks
