08 328i odd ticking noise

Hey guys i have a 08 328i which has a loud ticking nose coming from the engine, i was told to put some lucas oil stabilizer in it but have not. I read different google searchs and it seems very mixed with no direct answer for a fix

hey man that sounds remarkably bad. I've had lifter tick that goes away on my car and It never made that horrible noise. change the oil to a 0w40 and see how the oil looks when you drain it stay aware of any metal particles. You might have a bad case of lifter tick but that sounds like damn rod knock. Also if you rev it when its doing this does it get louder?

Well i suggest you change the oil then. My ticking issue happened after the car sat for about 4 days and I was running castrol 0w40 which being a 0w when cold flows very good on start but drains off quickly which is a problem for these engines with the lifters draining out. Now its fine with valvoline 5w30. I suggest you change the oil to make sure everything in there is okay. 5w40. then go from there.
