The same reason you'd replace parts like plugs, injectors (if they are really old w/ lots of miles) coils, etc. BEFORE you tune.

How do they make money, if everything they sell is being returned and they are giving out new parts in exchange?

They hope and are probably successful in most people either not having the car long enough or not wanting to deal with the hassle of shipping parts back. Such as oil yes they’ll warranty it but shipping the oil would almost run the cost of just buying it without return

Lots of problems.

More HP = more heat. Heat kills electronics.
More heat = more resistance.
Harder to get a spark occur in a higher pressure environment.
Big reason spark plugs have to be gaped closer in FI cars.

Yeah, I think a tuned motor merely exposes weak coils sooner than a stock motor, due to higher boost requiring more energy for a consistent spark. I wouldn't say it's harder on coils, but it's certainly more picky.

The amount of people that actually take the time to order the new part, then ship back the old part(s) for the refund is a fraction of a percent of the people that order from them is my educated guess.

I'd go with eldor coils vs oem Bosch. Next would be Delphi's personally.

That would make sense,

I don't know of any company in uk that offers warranty like FCP though,
