I thought the MAD 5" looked like a copy of the wagner, so I'm curious to understand the details of relative performance between the two, and if one actually outperforms the other.

For what it' worth, my EVO 1 has been working great for my stock turbo MHD stage 2+ I'm going to see how it holds up when I get my EFR 8374 installed. It should stay under 20 psi on 93 only, and it's a daily driver so only short WOT stabs or 2 or 3 gear pulls, so I'm hoping the EVO 1 will be sufficient for my use conditions...
I have not done any testing on my own (there is a lot more data on the F chassis N55; check out the thread there).

The MAD core density is better than Wagner; it will keep temps lower.

The main advantage of Wagner is the weight difference; it will make a difference if you track the car semi-professionally and need every lb to be cut. Keeping the temps down for daily driving is the main priority, so I recommend MAD over Wagner.

For the street, a stepped core should be a requirement - for anything more than street driving (like HPDE) you'll want something like a Race Core - VRSF or BMS or the like.
