Is it ok to drain the oil and flip the motor upside down on my engine stand? I tried searching but couldn't find anything. I need to do my oil pan gasket…

If it's on a stand, do whatever you want. The only thing you really have to worry about is spilling fluids everywhere, or accidentally tipping it over and killing yourself.

Yes you can. And probably unlikely for the N52 motors, but a common practice at the mechanic shop is to remove the valvecover so that when it's turned upside down, no oil will settle into any crevasses that may have to do with crankcase ventilation. Only thing i remember on the N52 valvecover is the Valvetronic motor and ECC sensor. Shouldn't be a probably even if you keep the valvecover on.
