style 189 19's?

I was at the dealer yesterday checking out the 328 demo, and on their wheel wall, they had an 3 series optional 19 that looked very similar to the new sport package wheel on the coupe. Has anyone else seen these? They also had runflats on...conti's I think. But after seeing the 17s on the 328 demo, which were rediculously small, I think even the 18s will be not large enough so 19s will definitely be in order.

Are the 199's a new style and available in US? If so how do you get them? Was not an option when I ordered my E92 a month ago? I thought no 19in available for US and thats why we can't get style 230???

Correct me if I am wrong then, but I thought the 199 was an E90 option...something from your accessory giude? And as for the ride harshness...its going to be a little harsh anyway, and its something that I am willing to go with as a trade off for looks and the arguable performance difference.

just out of curiousity what performance increases were you expecting with the 19"s? i had 19"s on my 350z and they actually slowed the car down a bit even though they were lighter than stock (increased rotational mass).

Again, I say it is arguable, but 19s should give sharper and quicker turning responsiveness as well as road feel (what some may call harsher).

I'm gonna get ACS Type IV 18" RFT. If I don't like the RFT's, is it possible to swap the tires for non-RFT ? Someone told me that this might not be possible while keeping the wheels.

You can always buy regular tires, you dont have to get runflats.

RJD,

I swung by the local dealership a few weeks ago asking about winter tires, and the service department gave me a book that list all factory wheels for all series and the prices in euros/retail.

for the 199 style wheels with bridgestones complete 3350 euros
only the front wheels 19X8 380 euros each / rears 19X9 390
the 189 front 18X8 335 euros/ rears 18X8.5 348
and the 230's were fronts 19X8 380 euros / and rears 19X9 390

The book lists the part #'s individually if you need them, not sure which
ones the US has access to.
Hope this helped

Scott
