removing front rotor question

Howdy,

Has anybody removed the stock, front rotors without removing the calipers first? The BMW instructions say you can just remove the bolts on the rotors and they will come out... not sure I trust the BMW instructions 100%.
At the worst, do you maybe have to remove the brake pads first?

I'm hoping to change out my shocks/springs soon and I was thinking about removing the rotors to give me more working room.

Thanks!

if you can get the screw off that holds the rotor on to the hub then I think you can.

I know the bimmers use stud bolts to hold the rims on and not just lug nuts. So in theory I would think you can.

Havent had to do mine yet though.

I'm wondering if there's enough free play where the rotor is held between the pads/caliper to allow you to pull it out.
