Has the price of extended maintanence gone up?
I live in San Francisco and I want to extend the maintenance on my '06 330i and I'm getting quoted $1850.
A couple non-sales guys I talked to at the dealership told me there was a price increase in July, and that they used to be able to do it for $1695 to extend it to 6 years, which is what I thought I would be able to get it for. So I'm wondering here if I'm just out of luck and will have to eat the $150, or does anybody know if there's an out-of-state dealership that can sell the maintenance to me for less? Thanks! Ambert |

My dealership told me in June that the prices would increase.

The problem is that no dealers from SF to LA (all of california, we've tried around 8 of them) are willing to give it to me for less than 1850. This is not just me bargaining, but a licensed dealer friend helping me out with the negotiation. So I think you may be misinterpreting my request - I'm not looking for hints on what to do because I know a lower price can be had, I want to know specifically if someone knows a dealership out of California that recently sold them something for less. Maybe me and my dealer friend are just bad negotiators, but I think maybe something is just up with the dealers in California. (that's my hope and I don't want to start calling up out of state people unless I know people have recently - after the price increase in June - got them for less) But anyways, thanks for trying to help guys! |

IMO it's not worth it, an extended warranty yes, but maintenance definitely not, especially with the bmw 15k oil change intervals. If you do the brakes yourself you can save a lot of $$.

Agreed, if anything, take the money and put it in the bank. When you need maintenance, just pull from that account. If you do the work yourself, you will save a fortune.

Speak to the Finance Manager at BMW of Macon. He can hook you up for $1695 with no tax.
