FWIW, I still think it's a good idea to switch out the 2-ply silicone hose with a 4-ply. Tuned or not, the metal conduit/line is still where it is.......and it WILL eventually rub and create a small hole in the silicone hose.

How much does the 4-ply Silicone Hose cost?
Where can I get it from?

I think you can just goole that and it should come up with a list of vendors. I got mine along with my FMIC, which is ETS, and they supplied the silicone hose.

Or you can email vendors here on the forum that sells BOVs or DVs and they might know where to get some, if they don't have it already.......

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ryan great product indeed but the guys here are mentioning a problem with the 2-ply silicone hose as there is a conduit under it which rubs against it and creates a hole with time so it should be replaced by a 4-ply silicone hose.

On page 6 of the installation manual it tells you about that A/C support bracket that needs to be modified so that the hose does not get rubbed. Easy fix!

Hummm.......Is this the installation manual you're talking about? Or do you have an updated version?

Because in this one, on page 6 it mentions NOTHING of the A/C line which is what you're talking about.......

Just curious.......Nor does it warn the installer that the nipple off the intake manifold is easily broken, and should not use too much force if they need to unplug the vacuum line from there. A better way would be to use the T connector oh the other side of that vacuum line to tap into for boost.

You can check the instruction manual off of the website and on page 6 it will show you. I guess your manual must be an original.

Oh ok, as long as you say that it's in there, then I believe you.......I really think those two important points should have been mentioned in ALL manuals for BOV install.

Thumbs up

As I take it, we have 2 options :
1 - Trimming off the sharp bracket edge as the manual says
2 - Replacing the 2-ply Silicon Hose with a 4-ply Silicone Hose

I'd rather go with 1 as it is simple to do, cheaper, and it keeps the original AA Hose provided.

I guess my analysis were right about the air leakage I mentioned previously... It's most probably caused by the friction with sharp bracket. The mechanics dude was too arrogant not to look at the instruction manual while putting my BOV in place... I will be checking that by myself ASAP; hoping that the hose is still in good condition.

Peace till then.

Nice install. I am about to order the same BOV from Andrew @ AR Design. Quick question though...I also ordered the BMS dci. Will this work? Is there enough room for the AA BOV? Another dci is no option for me. Only other option is no filter replacement if it does not fit with the AA BOV...Pleas help guys, I've done a little search with google pics and found none with both installed...

Just ordered mine, because something is leaking or broken on the stock pipe. Not sure what it is but hopefully the new pipe+BOV will fix it.

Also, Im hear that same turbine noise when I gas it and now have a loss of power code pop up every time I gas my car hard.

I had mine for almost a year. Also trimmed the bracket for easy install. I tried messing with the screw on top of the BOV but didn't really understood what it was meant for and didn't feel any differance. Does it have to stick out, halfway or all the way down? Anyway, the woosh sound is very addictive. A little bit too much even, so I recently sold it and imported a Subaru P1 with a much louder bov. The new owner of my former 335xi also likes the quality and sound of the AA bov, BMS dci, BMS JB4, BMS cdv and AR catless DPs which are one of the very few to be found here in Belgium. He has added a HPF intercooler and he is planning more mods...
