Negotiate lease now or in November?

Hi.

Would there be any downside in finalizing a lease deal now or would it be better to wait until november? Is there any chance the MF or residuals would get worse? Or would they certainly stay the same/get better.

I'd like to hear your opinions on this, thanks!

I have this same question. I want to do a ED lease in late February, so I have some time to wait. I figure the longer I wait, the better deal I may be able to squeeze out. For Feb delivery, I think late Nov or early Dec is the latest I would be able to make the deal.

You can negotiate the deal now to lock in the current rate. If the rate is lower when your car arrives you get the lower rate instead. I ordered a 335 on 9-25.

BMWFS locks in your rate for 60 days. If you apply today, your rate is guaranteed until 12/17. If rate decreases in meantime, you can re-apply and get the lower rate + another 60 days rate lock. Based on this info, plan backwards from your anticipated delivery to determine best time to apply for lease.

Thanks, you guys are awesome!

Armed with this information, I'm going to go in there sometime soon and get this done.

One more question though: Since I haven't received the vehicle, I'm obviously apprehensive about signing any papers (What if it is not EXACTLY what i ordered/scratched/etc?) before it is in front of me. What steps should I take to make sure I don't get potentially hosed here?

Thanks

If you're doing ED, you will receive a Purchase Order that is notarized that includes all options and config of your car when you sign paperwork for your car (usually 14 days from delivery).

If you're doing US delivery, your dealer will only take your information and apply for credit with BMWFS. In either case, you should make sure to double check the order forms, purchase orders, etc to insure that your options are correct. You can also have your CA print out a "Vehicle Inquiry: Design MSRP" from their dealerspeed.net site so that you can see all of your car's details in writing.

The lock is actually good for 60 day from the end of the month so it would take you out to the end of December. I had a customer relock 3 times and wound up with a payment of 60 a month lower without me changing the selling price since he was already at XXXX over ED invoice, that was a huge savings, doesn't always work out that way........
