I'm not in a hurry and othes like yourself may be using nitrous before me. I want to evaluate the meth system, and Procede vs. JB3 2.0 first, when weather permits

Moderators!!! Create a new sticky with all of the OP's reviews. It is too useful to let it get buried in these forums.

Heh, might as well go all the way and do up a sub-forum. It doesn't sound like he's anywhere near done with his impeccably documented series of modifications.

Terrance, good stuff! I figured you would make the move quickly. NX quality is absolutely superb. The new bottles and solenoids are tremendously reliable and well built. I cannot imagine you could do any better than NX.

SSDD, I am not done yet and I know I will have at least 3 more reviews in the next 3 weeks, but maybe 4. They will be thorough and detail rich.

The most informed people on the N54 will tell you that the N54 intake manifold and charge appears to be very susceptible to pooling (fuel puddling). Pooling can lead to nitrous backfires and they are not good.
How did you come to this conclusion? If pooling was an issue wouldn't the same issue occur when running methanol? Not trying to be a dick, just looking for an answer.

I was planning on going with nitrous ever since OB was running it, but you just made the decision alot more simplier with the data you provided. Looks like the N54 responds to nitrous very well.

That is a legitimate question. Methanol evaporates MUCH easier than gasoline. You can test this by putting gasoline on the ground in a thin puddle and methanol on the ground in a thin puddle. You will see the methanol evaporates nearly instaneously. This means puddling/pooling is not an issue with methanol. Would I run a wet shot with methanol? The answer is yes.

Thanks Terrance. I am glad it did help. The progressive shot seems ideal because it allows the DME to react very quickly using its wideband O2 sensor. The DME on this car is masterful.

Boost Gomez, thank you and I am glad that the work is of benefit to the community.

I have to get this clutch upgraded first, but the ball is already rolling. I obviously need something that will hold big power and I think this will.

NX is a great product! It's crazy to see you've gained ~90rwhp with a 35 shot, my god!!!

I think I found a good custom Kit that does most everything that FBIS is doing

I talked to craig at NX and he helped me in piecing it together and pricing it

First get the N-Tercooler kit and they will replace the intercooler ring with the lines/fittings/jets for free ($441)

http://www.nitrousexpress.com/produc...ils.php?id=695

Then get the Octane series controller (a must) ($400)
no need to buy switches becasue the controller handles all the switching, all you have to do is jumper the RPM and TPS signals from the JB3/DME
This is the piece of the kit that sold me on NX for sure!! Great find FBIS!!
The only problem is that the controller can only display 1 0-5v sensor apart from wideband, RPM, and TPS. Therefore since you need it for the pressure on the bottle/heater to automatically regulate optimal pressure, you cant use it as a 0-5v boost guage. Oh well, can't have it all I guess

http://www.nitrousexpress.com/produc...ils.php?id=247

The you get the automatic bottle heater for FREE ($200 value) only until March 31 so hurry if you want to do this soon.
and they will throw in the transducer to make in work with the octane controller for $30

Finally you need to get the remote bottle opener to have fun on the fly ($287) optional but worth it

http://www.nitrousexpress.com/product-details.php?id=76

I don't see the need for anything else in the Gen 2 accesory kit (fuel cut-off switch or blow down tube) but if you want you can buy the fuel cut-off switch seperatly for $50, not sure about blow down tube

I also don't see the need for a purge system on a 35 shot dry kit from what I have read on the internet and the conversation with Craig at NX, other than the ricerish look of blowing off NOS and waisting $$$ NOS. But maybe its for some. Plus NX and the experts at LS1TECH.com said its realy only for wet shots to get the vapor out of the system. Its not a safety concern but rather cleaning the line to get NOS ASAP, maybe .01 seconds faster. If your already putting the dealy on it from the controller, whats another .01 sec ???

Shipping will be about $30 says NX and the will also give a package price if you buy all this stuff, didn't ask specifically but he was open to the idea, I'm thinking something like $30-$50 off. Craig also told me that the are currently working on putting together a dry kit for our Beeemers with good pricing based on the recent interest from our community Thanks to FBIS awesome writeup and sales job

Another great thing is that their kit include lifetime warranty, not sure if the whole kit but the important pieces like the controller and Solenoids I did ask about.

For this kit I also think you should definatly buy a wideband digital sensor like an FJO (~$350)
for the extra safty with the controller for lean and rich run possibilities.

So Total for ~90ish rwhp is
$441 kit
$400 controller
$30 Shipping
$0 bottle heater
$30 pressure transducer for bottle to controller
$30 discount (maybe)
$911 for a real safe kit of NOS

optional
$238 bottle opener
$50 fuel switch
$350 FJO digital wideband wideband
$?? blow down tube

Hope this info helps your decision, becasue I know I was lost on what this stuff costs
