spacers safe in the long run?

Thinking about putting either 15mm or 18mm spacers in the rear but was wondering if they would last/outlast the car or say about 4-5 years. People say as long as you have quality spacers and lug bolts you are good, but I haven't really heard of people having spacers for a long period of time. By having spacers do you need to re-torque often?

I put over 30k on 25mm spacer/adapter with no issues. Every retorque was good with no sign of lugs loosening.

Perfectly fine as long as proper steps are taken when installing. Re-torquing shouldn't be necessary but never a bad idea to check.

Not a problem so long as you stick with a reputable brand- make sure they are forged alloy and hubcentric.

Just as a thought, if you run spacers you might consider asking your local wheel/tire shop to road-force balance your tires with the spacer on between the wheel and the balancing machine.
