Performance Exhaust for 4 cyl

Ive fittted it

sounds quite good considering ive 2 cylinders missing and no turbo..

But i was seriously suprised with how much changed the sound of the car !
Fitment was suprisingly quick, but BMW should be a little more on the ball regarding fitting requirements (gaskets and springclamp set) and offer a fitting set for rearsection changes ect.

The pics are snapped at work after i fitted and test drove

(sorry i didnt wash it ..)

and comparison of the 2

heres a vid of the exhaust.
I will admit, i found a funky "pop" and kept reving it at exactly that point.. but not sure if i spoiled the video now, because it sounds like the exhaust is too raspy.

But it isnt,
After i got home, i made my girlfriend drive up and down our street so i could hear it at "normal" levels, and it sounds soo deep

At 3k it comes alive and gets that raw sound, but at normal levels its a nice burble. which, for a 4pot, is not bad at all

is this the oem perf exhaust? the pic looks a bit different to other ones ive seen. Im thinking about either eisenmann or bmw performance exhaust for my 320. There are heaps of videos for eisenmann 320s but I havent found any (other than yours) for the bmw performance exhaust on a 4 cylinder. good to know it fits though.

also wanna know this is full catback system right. how much was it?? Also did u feel any increase in HP?

part nr 1830 2165667

fits 318/20/20is

Fitment is no problem as its an original peice. Just remember the gasket seal needs to be replaced between the rearsection and catback section.

Part is rearsection only, mid silencer is not replaced

Does it feel faster.. yes.
Is it because it sounds faster

..most probably

mate how much was urs??? I am waiting for BMW to give me a quote now. I know the 6 cyln is a full cat back system. Is it same for the 4 cyln or u just didnt get it?/

ok BMW called me back...this thing is still in manfuacturing at germany and is not yet available in hong kong... hopefully ready for order in this month

cost about 400 euros

but i got it at cost so only 270 odd + tax

The 4cyl version has JUST come out, some of the dealerships didn´t know of it (their epc wasnt new enough) or have the pricing update to say how much it cost

when i ordered it through BMW, their contact said BMW Munich didnt even know when the item would be sent out for distribution, athough they did confirm price.. lol

Thanks for the info mate. I just realised it's only available for rear. Damn I was looking for full catback. Anyways they still dun have price and order available yet.

the aftercat section is as shown, and the midsilencer is so small there isnt, i suspect, much difference if you removed the midsection when the performance rear is fitted soundwise..

haha im no mechanic expert mate. but what you mean is the mid section for our four potters arent long enough for significant changes even if BMW were to introduce them?

Anyways, i hope more people will post their installation. i've listened to your clip for like a hundred times haha. i realy wanna get the bmw perf exhaust mod on mine....gonna be abit of wait in Hong Kong.

nah mate , u misunderstand

what im saying is the small midsilencer is , well really small.. and even if you did have a free flow pipe all the way through, im not sure it would make that much difference

but you can DIY your midsection when you get the PE rearbox
