Either date is fine with me. I think any location in the socal area is more convient than driving to S.F. Plenty of dyno's down here, as long as shiv is doing the tune I'll go anywhere! and a group price would be awesome too. I bet we could have 15-20 chips done maybe a few days of work for him but a ton of money for the R&D Investment! and also maybe they can have the stage two done hehehe

I also think "Church Automotive testing" in Wilmington, CA is a good location the owner's name is Shawn Church he does tuning and he has a few different dyno's as well. Their location is pretty decent on parking too so I'd suggest them. I'm open to any date after January 13th so I'll leave that for other folks to decide. I also want to know if Shiv will be bringing everything with him or will I have to order the XEDE online?? I'd prefer to just bring my car and cash and be done with it...

here is the link to the shops website.

I'm interested in Xede only install, but I want to do it on a weekend since I'll be working on weekdays. Any weekends from late January on is best for me. Since we have so many interested parties, a group buy would be nice.

Attendees updated,

A few things:

Date:
The tuning day will definitely need be spread across 2 days, and to make as convient as possible I'm proposing a Sunday/Monday tune on Feb 11th and 12th. Let me know if there is a problem with this and which day you would be attending.

Group Buy:

I spoke to Shiv and the possibility of an additional group buy discount in all likelyhood will not happen. Simply because he is doing the tuning on ours cars at no additional cost. Which is understandable.

Place to meet:

I've been in negotiations with Shawn at Church Dyno, as suggested by Jon, and it looks like they have no problem with us hogging their dyno over a couple of days. According to their website its $45 a car per day for the dyno. I think this shop may be the front runner (as its the only shop I've had time to contact, and they seem relatively flexible). I've pasted one of our emails below. If there is any additional information you want to ask Shawn, just post the questions here and I'll relay that to him. I'd like to finalize a meet location and date by the end of the weekend as well, so please post any comments, concerns, or criticisms now.

Hi Chris,

We are normally open from 10a-6p 7 days a week. However, we can open earlier and close later by special request.

We run two Dynapack chassis dynos. These require removing the drive wheels and attaching a hub adaptor directly to the car. Takes about 10-15 minutes per car for mounting, but the advantage is no wheelspin, no tire wear and no alignment/mounting sensitivity. Our Dynapacks are a model 2000 and a model 4000. The model 2000 handles about 450-500 hp, the 4000 handles 1300-1400 hp. Both can be combined together in an AWD configuration.

We normally don't do any installs, but we do have an experienced mechanic shop in the same building. With planning and no major issues, I'm sure they could do an install as noted on their lift in about an hour, probably less.

We can certainly do a discount for a multi day rental. The overall price will depend on which dyno you need to use (or both), the number of cars, what we'll need to do (tuning, just baselining, etc.), and how many hours each day you want to use them. Usually, renting the model 2000 is $600 for an 8 hour day with no more than 4 cars. We'll need to charge more if we're pulling more cars on and off. The price goes up from there, but you could comfortably rent the model 4000 for an entire 8 hour day with as many cars as we can put on for under $1000. If you do two days, we'll cut more off the price of course.

Hope that answers your questions. Is there anything else I can shed light on?

Rgds,
Shawn Church

If you could contact TECHNIK and find out whether the proposed dates would be suitable, times of business, and what sort of rates they are offering that would be great . Let us know ADHD.

CEA, check with Dan and see what he can do for us. The suggestion to go with Churchs is merely a suggestion, and in no way definitive.

Yes, everyone would have to place a deposit (20%) for the Xede when they place the order, and would pay the remaining balance a couple days before the schedule tuning. Unless you prefer to pay the price in its entirety upfront

Sunday would work perfect for me.
no BG pricing, but getting the custom tuning for $1300 is ok by me.

I'm hoping to have my custom exhaust on by then as well.

I have no issue with Churchs or Harmann Motive, as I've been there, due to my past Audis.

I also know Mike from Technic as well.
I know he's not working there anymore, but I'm sure we could get hooked up there possibly.

either way, I'm game for Sunday the 11th.

I do not know a whole lot about different dynos so either is fine with me, the closer to OC the better for me. I won't be able to confirm Sun or Mon until the date gets closer Mon is the most likely though. Thanks for getting this together! 6 Weeks damn... I can't wait!

If you confirm for Monday, that makes two of us! (myself + u)...honestly though, if Sunday is stacked with people and almost nobody decides to go on Monday this event may happen over a Sat/Sun.

6 weeks will come sooner than later, plus think of all the money you'll have to spend after tax returns...I'm sure Shiv wouldn't mind selling some more exhausts

Is there anyone else going into this tune with a aftermarket exhaust? I'll have the Milltek.

I need everyone to PM me their full name and a contact phone # so I can pass the information along to Shiv, and we can get the ordering process underway
