Caught or not caught
PC plod with his hand held video camera.... think I was going about 36mph in 30mph zone before I clocked him.... lots of traffic coming the other way though so hoping he might have missed me.

So do they come in cars now as well??
I thought it was them spying vans that fcuked you over...also if they have a handheld camera would it not be hard to get a full view of your license plate? |

i made eye contact with him when I went past and he wasn't scowling judgementally. i'm hoping that's a good sign.

If he winked and ran his tongue over his lips you might be in with a chance.

he was sat against his boot with the camera mounted on a tripod.
it looked like a new bit of kit: camera unit with and decent sized LCD screen to the side.

i think that's a Worcestershire Constabulary specific trait.

Potentially he had video, in that case keep squirming everytime the posty calls for a few weeks!
Otherwise they'd normally have a partner down the road (normally a bike) that picks you up.

They don't necessarily always have to pull you over..I was caught a few years back on the saturday, and received a lovely letter on the tuesday!
EDIT: mines was for a court summons if it changes anything? If nothing arrives within the week you'll be grand! |

I was caught a couple of years ago doing 36 in a 30.
Unmarked car sat on the side of the road facing me. I would be expecting a letter in the post but it will only be a SP30 and a fine of around £50 (correct me if I'm wrong). Insurance companies wont bother too much with if it's your only one. |

Fingers crossed...

It sounds like an ANPR device rather than a speed camera.

but there was no support for stops - so I'm presuming it's for speed (there's not much point in ANPR'ing if you don't get stopped there and then!)

Sweat it out for a couple of weeks, if nothing appears in the post then I reckon you'll be ok.
That fact that it looked like a camera/had a screen makes it sound like it wasn't a speed gun. I wonder if they were just filming the road for some purpose? Looking at traffic patterns or some other glorious waste of our tax £s? |
