Price from ARMA

Well guys, as some of you know I was going to get the ARMA kit for my car, after talking to them for a few months now. originally I was going to get the kit for very cheap.. but today I get the bill for it and check out what these crazy people are charging:

Supercharger kit -------------------------------------USD$8800
Header---------------------------------------------------------USD$1320
Muffler (with variable pressure valve)------------------------USD$1760

thats before shipping and any duties from China..

so $12,000 for the set up. I laughed at them and told them to forget it.

(they offered me a price of 4500 shipped previously)

going to drop HPF a line and see if they have something better in the works.

hpf was working on the n52 before the 335i came out. after the 335i came out, the project was halted. wonder if they will restart it or if it's been restarted?

LOL. Thats just retarded.. They put that low price so you'd be interested, and now that you are, they just increased the price to whatever they want. That's so cheap. They wasted your time negotiating,etc.. thats fluff..

I am sorry but what's there to be laughing about Taiwan made SC???? As far as I know, there are plenty custom turbo/SC setup I have seen there that are made with quality and durability.

Plus German made stuff always sophisticated!?!? So you guys are saying if the WHOLE ARMA kit is completely German made, then the OP is more willing to pay for it??? Hum... I think not.

like all the Tai people need to relax, its not like its your duty to stand up for your country in every way possible, like stop freaking out about it. does taiwan make good cars, NO... end of story. every country hast its ups and downs but this product just happens to be more fishy for its application thats all due to its has no record of making good cars or car parts.. if it makes anyone feel better tai food is awesome. yay for a compliment !!!

that price is a rip off, the whole thing just seems oddly wrong at this point. like WTF are they thinking over there. HPF sells the E46 M3 turbo kit that does 1000HP for nearly that price so why the hell would anyone over here spend that much for out NA cars to produce less. i know there is a difference in engines obviously.

I was just eating my breakfast and LOLed and almost wanted to type a big article about the things you were unaware of. But then... I thought about it and remembered the ethnocentric part about being American.

Here's a little sprinkle for you: Yulon (read: Nissan). Are you now going to say that Nissan, which has various subsidiaries and is responsible for great cars like the GT-R and 370Z is sh*t?

I will, however, agree with the rest of what you wrote about the price and such.

Tai =/= Thai =/= Taiwanese.

AND The last time I checked ARMA's website, there's no mentioning of their country of origin (fishy I know). It merely lists applicable languages as English / Japanese and has news about car shows they participated in Taiwan and China.

Really? You don't know that Taiwan is in China?

12k for a supercharger? I'll pass, as the rest of the board should. I have never even heard of ARMA until someone posted about their supercharger kit in the works. Does any know if they even make quality/proven products?
