I tried the double lock thing and it doesn't make sense if I can press the unlock button from inside the car and open the door... What stops someone from smashing the window and just reaching for the unlock button?

That cruise control will automatically slow down if it senses higher lateral g forces. I took a curve on cruise on an off ramp and it slows me down. Grrrrrrr

I seem to recall being unsure if it was related to steering angle or lateral force. Same net effect, I'm not sure why I remember thinking there was a noticeable difference.

I'm not going to read all 96 pages of this thread, so apologies if this has already been said, but I noticed yesterday (335D Auto) that if you have your foot on the brake and the wipers going you can feel the pedal pulsate when the wiper relay kicks in and out.

No they won't reach for the button, they will simply pull the handle at that point. I mean once someone smashes your window then they are pretty much already inside the car anyway.

Actually the handle disengages. I sat in my car and did this. All the door handles completely cut off, but you can still unlock from the button on the dash. Doesn't really make sense.

Doesn't really do much here in SoCal. Winter doesn't do so much since heaters are based off of residual heat, and it's probably a 10-degree difference for the one time I've used it in the summer, since it just uses the fan and not the air conditioning (which again, needs the engine). Plus, for the times I really wanted it to work, it's practically guaranteed that I won't be anywhere near the car at that time (e.g. overtime, I miss one leg of the train when I park my car at the train station to avoid downtown traffic, etc.).

Haha that's comfort access for ya. Whenever I wash my car I have to make sure my keys are in the house otherwise anytime water runs over the handle it will keep locking, unlocking, beeping, and flashing haha

Just used my RES button the other day parked and waiting in the cold, fantastic feature! Almost as good as the electric element heater core in my other car! But it works immediately, and for almost as long as I could ever want. |

What was your "other" car? I've never heard of any car having that.

So... While I spent 2.5 hours to go 20 miles bored out of my mind on the frickin' 405 freeway here in SoCal (saying it's way too fucking crowded is an understatement)...
1. When you have the headlights on and use the turn signal, it turns off the parking lamp so that there is [perhaps] full contrast, then after you shut it off, it goes blank for a second and turns the parking lamp back on. 2. With the turn signal, there is no stopping it mid-blink. (like 1/3 second on, 1/3 second off, but it'll complete the cycle instead of say, a Toyota that can turn off and be 0.1 second on) 3. If you turn on HDC while going downhill, you can almost accelerate and brake with the cruise control lever... No foot needed (unless it's slower than 5MPH or above 20MPH )!

all you have to do is place the key inside the car, comfort access will do nothing when senses the key inside and keep in mind, the door will not lock from outside (preventing locking they key inside while you are outside). I love the comfort access !!!! you just have to lear the logic of whomever came up with this idea

same here, got tired of driving last night, wanted an hour nap, pulled over, got ready, turned off the car and pressed the magic button (REST), I knew the car will be warm enough till I fall a sleep, in an hour it will be cold and force me to wake up . But most of the time I use while waiting for the kids at school Just word of advise, make sure your batteries are in good condition it can drain them
