I don't recall if I posted in here before.

No (other) car, just a Z1000.

Don't have a pic of it (don't know where my pic went), but it's exactly this (color and all):

You could say I'm a fan of the n52. Feel as though it's the ultimate culmination and representation of what made BMW famous, naturally aspirated inline six. And the sound it makes when it's wound up is just amazing, especially on the Z with an exhaust.

Also have owned two E46s and was active over an e46fanatics, as well as a highly modded Eagle Talon tsi awd back when I was in college along with various other forgettable vehicles not worth mentioning.
I just picked up a 2008 Z4 3.0si Coupe week before Christmas. I love the thing. I'm disappointed I didn't get one years ago when I first saw it at the dealership. I never liked the looks of E85 Z4, but the Coupe just transforms the styling.

Once you have an N52 you never go back.
Completely agree with you, when I got mine two years ago I was actually shopping for an E92... Was dead set on picking one up then out of the corner of my eye I noticed the E86 hiding behind some SUVs.... It was love at first site. What do you think of the steering? I personally don't have any issues with it. I like how light it is normally for city and parking lots... As soon as I hit the open road though I switch to sport and it tightens up nicely.

Mine is an '07 with sport package, premium package, cold weather package, extended leather, the storage package thing, six speed manual and no navi... Literally exactly what I would have spec'd had I bought her new. Previous owner murdered it out which I'm not a total fan of but the looks and comments this car gets are insane. Never gotten so much positive attention from a vehicle before except when I drove a Shelby cobra.

Take car of it... The coupes are an increasingly rare breed. Truly sad just how few were made and of those how many are getting totaled.

Oh hey, I accidentally found my old stash of pics! Here's my bike.

Z1000 streetfighter. Outrun anything short of a Hypercar below 100 mph.

Hopefully adding an e46 wagon soon, so I can haul my dogs around a little easier. but I don't see getting rid of my e92 or e93. So I may need a bigger garage...

Your car and my car seem almost identical. I have the heated M-sport seats too. I've yet driven a car with electric steering that provides the feel of hydraulic. The Cadillac ATS comes close, and the '08 Cayman I was about to buy had great steering too (duh). I like the Z4s weighting and precision, but I don't like the variable assist at low speeds; I'm an old dude, so I grew up with manual steering on several of my first cars and that's my frame of reference. Also, I don't care for the sport switch. I've not noticed any benefit to the steering other than it makes the car more twitchy; it doesn't magically transform the steering feel in any appreciable way. Maybe it's my tires (Pirelli P-Zero RFTs). The Z4 guys all say the car rides/drives better with non-RFTs, so when the tires wear out, I'll see how it changes. I drive the Z4 on some really excellent back roads that should show the benefits of the "sport" steering, but I've not seen it, and my E90 (on non-RFTs) has far better steering feel. The best steering feel I've every experienced was in a 1977 BMW E21 320i (in 1977 - i.e. it was original and new, and no power assist). But that's not to say the Z4 Coupe chassis is not an excellent driver, because it is.

The sport switch also changes the throttle mapping, which on a manual car makes no sense to me since you have to adjust your clutch release technique too. I find I'm always slipping the clutch when I first switch over to sport mode. With the auto trans, a change in throttle mapping is not an issue, but in a manual I think it is stupid. All in all the Z4 is a sports car, so why not just have one (sport) mode for it, and leave it at that? Sales gimmick I suppose. But the N52 with the Z4 exhaust is so enticing... BMW definitely got that part right.

None... I've always wanted to have multiple cars; the closest I've gotten was driving my S/O's car (and even then her 97 Acura CL 2.2 was in bad repair and unexciting even if it was properly functioning).

Agree with you about steering feel overall. I've swapped out my rft for some bridgstones and the ride and steering feel improved considerably, although still not on par with the e92 and nowhere close to my e46s or even my old vw Gti. I also removed the cdv and changed the tranny fluid and installed a clutch stop, all at once so not sure how much any one individually made but the three combined helped considerably. As for the sport button, I can tell the difference and strangely enough the biggest improvement with sport mode on is on straight roads here in central Oregon. The roads here are horribly rutted from all the studded tires and putting the sport mode on seems to tighten up the steering and help a little with tramlining... The car is actually less twitchy with sport on.
