Thumbs down Grand central parkway

are these highway roads ever going to be repaired? god i hate driving on them, everytime i go over those bumps i feel like im going offroad in iraq or something.

the noise my car makes over a bump sometimes feels like a bomb went off.

and whats all that construction going on in the middle? anyone know?

I rock 17"s and all seasons all year round and it sounds like an explosion still. But yea you have to do below 50 by LGA otherwise you will probably blow something. Just saw a riced out car bottom out and throw sparks while flying down the triboro queensbound.

I think you're fine... Our RFTs really do suck, and the GCP really does suck as well! It's nerve-racking driving to Astoria on the GCP because that section is just SO BAD.

they have these speed bump impressions in the eastbound side heading towards the island...they were there 10 years ago but they leveled it and then repaved and it was fine.

Since all that over there is built on a swamp land, it tends to sink over the years and the bumps start showing again.

I avoid the GCP at all costs...I dont even consider it in existence and I take either LIE or Cross Island to Whitestone Expwy..

Does your traction control light comes on sometimes when you hit a bump? The ride quality is bad with RFT. In the 328i loaner the RFT is a tad bit better with the Conti maybe b/c of smaller wheel? 17 compared to 18. I enjoyed my 17" winter/blizzak set up much more than the all season 18's. Can't wait till i get my car back... it's only been 6 days.

just drive slowly and you'll be fine on the GCP. The GCP is the closest way into Astoria for me, so I really don't have a choice but to take it.

You think the GCP is bad. Avoid the cross Bronx. Oh the gutters, maybe their getting ready for the "Mets" season.
