I'm off to pick up my new F11 touring.

Ive gone for a Deep Sea Blue 2.0d Se touring.

Spec if I can remember correctly is

Oyster/black interior
Sports auto box
Pano roof
Dab
Ambient lighting
Prof high end sound system
Sports seats
Sports steering wheel
Pro media pack
Visability pack
Head up display
USB
Heated seats ( I think they're standard now)

Anyway Im hoping it's going to be as good as all the BMW's ive had before.

Will post pics hopefully when I get back

Ideal!

Should we ever get shot of our 3er, I think an F11 535d would be our first choice. LOADS of room!

I was on the loo yesterday and grabbed an old copy of Top Gear magazine and read a review on this exact car. They basically loved it and said it was all the car you will ever need.

I would defo have one of these.

Great day for a new motor , hope you enjoy it.

Will be interesting to hear how you get on in the next few months going from a 335d to a 520d.

Sounds great, I am impressed by the 520d economy figures. What alloys did you spec?

Great choice!
The new 5er touring is gorgeous (I prefer it more than the Saloon )

Hi Carlos ,

it's the standard gt3 with comfort spec as my frame will not allow me to have the carbon bucket seats.

I'm just popping out to have a drive of it and set the car up to how I like it. I really enjoyed that discovery but the ergonomics are miles away from BMW's standards.

VDC seems very good- well you certainly notice going from comfort to normal and then to sports. Will try to post a few more pics later.

Love both of them, I wish I could afford an F11 touring to sit alongside my C4S!

May I ask what the list price was of that highly specced F11?

I paid £40600 for it.

First impressions are fantastic and the car showed an average consumption of 45.6 mpg. I'll keep an eye and properly check the fuel consumption as time goes on but above was virtually all B roads.

First impressions are that the professional sound system is worth every penny-as well as the DAB.

I never thought i'd like the VDC as I just prefer to get in and go but there really is a noticeable difference straight away adjusting from comfort, normal and sport. First impressions are that comfort does exactly what it says on the tin

The interior is lovely, sports steering wheel and seats are great too. It's certainly a much more comfortable place to be than my previous 3 series and a big improvement on the e60 I had, especially regarding the ride comfort!

The ergonomics are so much better than the discovery 4 I had previously. BMW really have nailed it in this car.

The head up display works nice but I don't know if I'm just tired but I don't known if it's worth it or not. I've got the new black panel display which come standard with HUD ( I believe ) which is lovely and clear and has some nice touches to it.

2.0d seems a perfect match with the car. Plenty of shove to overtake when needed and very quite to boot.Power junkies will obviously miss the surge you get from the 6 cylinder engines but I'm afraid in these times I can't see the justification in spending £10k more for the larger engines. If I average 45 mpg in real figurers on b and a road driving it's a given that this will be the most complete car I've ever owned.

It's worth every penny which pretty much says it all

..the standard GT3 is my favourite current Porsche. Best looking too. Do you know if it is possible to put the rear seats & belts back in?

I think with the gen 2 gt3 it's now impossible to fit the rear seats.

That is a lot of money for A 2.0 Litre 5er, but the spec is outstanding and, as you say, fantastic economy in a quick, stylish tourer makes it worthwhile.

I'll have it off you in three years

What is VDC by the way?
